Linking the historic port of Fremantle in Australia with Bali and the exotic Indonesian archipelago, the Wonderful Indonesia Fremantle to Bali Race and Rally 2015 is set to get underway on 16th May 2015.

Organized by the  Fremantle Sailing Club in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, the 1,440 nautical miles event is divided into Race boat and Rally boat sections with both fleets starting their journey at 10:00am local time on Saturday, 16th May 2015. The Boat Race is expected to average 6-8 days for the voyage while the Boat Rally wll take between 10-14 days.

The start line will be off Fremantle Harbor and the finish line off Benoa Harbor, Bali. The two divisions comprise a non-competitive Ocean Rally for cruising yachts and an ISAF Category 1 International Yacht Race for sailors wishing to satisfy their competitive instincts.

Following their arrival crossing  the Benoa Harbour finish, participants will enjoy the camaraderie, parties and social events on Bali’s beautiful tropical location. And when the onshore celebrations are over they can experience more exotic sailing experiences available beyond this island paradise by cruising in company with the Beyond Bali Cruising Fleet. The Race was first introduced in 1981, and further run in 1986, 1988, 1990, 1993 and 1997.  However, from 1997 the event was suspended until it was revived in 2011, and later staged again in 2013. The Wonderful Indonesia Fremantle to Bali Race and Rally 2013 attracted a healthy fleet of 33 boats, many of whom were lured to participate by the promise of the “Beyond Bali” component of the rally. The progress of the yachts were watched on  website and the Yellow Brick tracking system which enabled families, friends, boating enthusiasts and media to follow the fleet throughout the event.

The event has grown to become one of the most enticing and alluring blue water races offering exciting sailing to participants and great armchair sailing through the tracker accessed via links on this website.
