Meet the SEABlings

SEABlings: Closer Than You Think is the newest regional tourism campaign from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, created in partnership with Agoda and AirAsia MOVE. It launches today to mark the 59th anniversary of ASEAN Day and runs through the end of the year, the third consecutive year the three have joined forces. The idea behind the name is simple. Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Viet Nam aren’t just neighbours on a map. They’re kin. Siblings of the Southeast Asia region. SEABlings, if you will.

You can taste it in the noodle bowls that change name and character every few hundred kilometres. You can hear it in words that travel across borders and arrive slightly rearranged. You can see it in temple silhouettes, market mornings and coastlines that refuse to stop at customs.

Closer Than You Think, and Cheaper Too
