Malaysia has over the years developed a first class infrastructure, ideal for the organisation of MICE. Kuala Lumpur International Airport is one of the busiest in the region and in 2014 became the first to open a dedicated low cost airlines terminal with standards similar to the best airports. Other large airports with international connections are Kota Kinabalu and Kuching in East Malaysia, Penang, Langkawi and Johor Bahru-Senai in West Malaysia. West Malaysia has an excellent network of tollways and highways linking all largest cities, while a new high speed train service now links Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh in Kedah and Butterworth near Penang. In the pipeline is a high speed rail link to Singapore. Most major cities in Malaysia are now equipped with conference centres offering the most up-to-date technologies.
