The annual international cycling event: the International Tour de Banyuwangi-Mt.Ijen 2015 to be held from 6th to 9th May 2015, will again highlight the Banyuwangi Regency in East Java province. Combining the exciting sport of bicycle racing with tourism, this year the event will have the added attraction ofmore booths at the start and finish lines of each stage, featuring top products from small and medium scale businesses in the regency.

The regency of Banyuwangi continuously improves the quality of the competition each year,  Regent of Banyuwangi, Abdullah Azwar Anas stated.  This year a number of improvements will be made including strengthening the link between sport and local culture-based lifestyle, the economy, and tourism. This year, the International Tour de Banyuwangi-Ijen ITdBI) will also feature traditional arts from the regency as well as involve communities such as in  those in roller skating, freestyle bicycling, and antique bicycles.

ITdBI is known as a challenging competition that takes competing racers to explore the Banyuwangi Regency and around the slopes of magnificent Mount Ijen.The stages will  cover some of the most fascinating destinations  including  Pulau Merah beach and the Kalibendo Agrotourism. There will be 4 stages duringthe 4 days of competition. 

As in previous years, classifications are: General Individual Classification (Yellow Jersey), Sprint Classification (Green Jersey), Best Indonesia Rider(White Jersey), and the King of Mountain (Red Jersey).

The Mount Ijen plateau is highly recommended for mountain buffs and hikers. The magnificent turquoise sulfur lake of Ijen Crater lies 2,148 m above sea level,and is surrounded by sheer crater walls. Here, one can observe the unique blue flames which amazingly light up the night sky.
