Even as the World Cup fever still reverberates across the globe, the hype of football is set to continue to highlight the capital city of Indonesia, since the reigning champion of the Italia Serie A football League, Juventus Football Club has confirmed to stage an exhibition match at the Main Stadium of the Gelora Bung Karno Sport Center in Jakarta on 6 August 2014.

Jakarta was chosen as the first stop to kick off the Club’s pre-season summer tour considering their large Indonesian fanbase, with the Indonesian selection side providing the opposition, before continuing to Australia on 10th August, and Singapore on 16th August.

More popularly known to worldwide fans as “Il Bianconeri” (The black and white –referred to its jersey’s colors) or simply “Juve”, the Turin-based club has secured the prestigious Scudetto (League Champion) thirty-two times in addition to two Champions League titles. In the 2013/14 season, Juventus won Serie A by breaking a league record with 102 points. For their match in Jakarta, Il Bianconeri will bring their best squad, which includes Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente, Gianluigi Buffon and midfield maestro Andrea Pirlo. Other top players involved in this summer’s World Cup will also link up with the squad for the match.

Juventus’ unparalleled success is linked to their long legacy of playing attractive football with world class players. This legacy has cemented the club’s place in the football world, generating hundreds of millions of loyal fans worldwide. Indonesia is one of the Bianconeri’s biggest fanbases with the largest number of supporters outside Europe.

In the official press release, Juventus Head of Global Partnerships, Nick Verdun expressed his excitement in view of the upcoming exhibition match: “We are very excited to start our Asian tour in such an important country as Indonesia, where the passion for football and Juventus are extraordinary, as demonstrated by our strong fanbase. The Gelora Bung Karno Stadium is a super venue and we are ready to put on the best show possible for all attending.”

The match in Indonesia is promoted by Nine Sport, a sports promoter based in Jakarta who specializes in football events and sponsorships. The match is set to kick off at 20.00 West Indonesia Time and will be broadcast live nation-wide by MNCTV, part of the MNC Group, the largest and integrated media group in South-East Asia.
