The latest sensation in pop music and teenage superstar boy band from England, One Direction will greet the fans in Indonesia with an unforgettable performance for the first time ever on 25th March 2015, at the Bung Karno Sport Complex Main Stadium, Jakarta. The concert forms part of One Direction’s On the Road Tour Again 2015.
The official Indonesian One Direction website, www.1dindo.com features a short 15-second video message from all the members of the group: Harry Stiles, Niall Horan, Zayne Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne saying “Hello Indonesia, Apa kabar?” ( “Hello Indonesia, how are you doing?”), before announcing the show.
The UK boy wonders started their quick ascent to fame on the talent show The X Factor, where their combination of infectious pop tunes and winning good looks caught the eye of producer extraordinaire Simon Cowell. Propelled to international success by social media, One Direction’s four albums, Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013) and Four (2014) broke records, topped charts in most major markets, and generated hit singles including “What Makes You Beautiful”, “Live While We’re Young”, “Story of My Life” and “Steal My Girl”.
Their achievements include four Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, eleven MTV Europe Music Awards, and nineteen Teen Choice Awards out of nineteen nominations, among many others. They were proclaimed 2012’s “Top New Artist” by Billboard. After the release of Midnight Memories and Four, One Direction became the first band in the U.S. Billboard 200 history to have their first three and four albums debut at number one. Their third album Midnight Memories was the biggest-selling album worldwide of 2013 despite being released in late November. In 2014, Billboard named One Direction the top artist of the year.
