MANILA, Philippines – Boracay does it again.

The “party island” that was named the No. 1 island destination by Travel + Leisure magazine and that came in No. 6 in TripAdvisor.com’s list of best beaches in 2012 has just been voted the No. 1 destination for relaxation and the No. 3 favorite destination for nightlife.

The survey was conducted by Agoda.com, a popular hotel booking site based in Asia.

The customer survey collected answers from 113,000 respondents at the end of their trip. The customers were asked to rate destinations based on the categories Relaxation and Nightlife on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being “poor” and 5 being “excellent.”

Under the Relaxation category, Boracay emerged as the clear winner, beating out second placer Bali and 3rd placer Koh Samui, a beach in Thailand.

In the Nightlife category, Thailand’s colorful capital, Bangkok, is the top choice, attracting tourists with its tuk-tuks, crazy bars and the energetic spirit of Khao San Road. Coming in second is the modern desert city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Boracay squeezes into the top 3 with its by-the-beach bars, day-long parties and white sand beaches.

Boracay is the only Philippine destination that made it to the top 10 for both categories. Manila came in 22nd in the Nightlife category while Cebu ranked 19 in the Relaxation category.
