Garuda Indonesia won yet again another international recognition as Indonesia’s flag carrier received a “Gold Award” for Amenity Kits products for both the “First Class Unisex” as well as for “Business Class Unisex Asia/Oceania” categories in the “Airline Amenity Bag Award 2013”. The Awards ceremony took place in Hamburg, Germany, on 8th April 2014.

The Awards were handed by Founder and Editor in Chief of TravelPlus, Simon Ward to the Services Director of Garuda Indonesia, Faik Fahmi and the VicePresident for Inflight Services Garuda Indonesia, Luigi John D’alessio.

In the press statement released on 10th May 2014, VP Corporate Communications of Garuda Indonesia, Pujobroto mentioned that “Amenity Kits first class” on Garuda Indonesia flights received the highest ratings in all evaluation criteria that included Trends, Pleasure, Luxury, Usability, and Style. The evaluation was judged by a panel that among others consisted of Travel & Lifestyle Director for ELLE magazine & elleuk.com, Susan Ward Davies, and Head of Airline and Aerospace Travelers Syndicate Management, Simon Lee.

The airline’s first class services as presented in the “state of the art” Boeing 777-300ER flights are currently ranked 3rd among approximately 248 airlines worldwide.

First class passengers of Garuda Indonesia receive premium services that include “Chef on Board” that enables passengers to order meals at an altitude of 35,000 feet, “in-flight Connectivity” which enables passengers in flight to access internet connection via WiFi, “Live TV” from six international channels (CNN International, BBC World, BBC Arabic, NHK World Premium, Euronews, and CNBC), and others.

Prior to the awards, Garuda Indonesia had also received international awards that include “The World’s Best Economy Class” from SkyTrax on June 2013 and the “Best in Region: Asia and Australasia” from Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX)” on September 2013.
