While Jakarta has the Ancol Fantasy World, and both Bandung and Makassar have the Trans Studio, so Surabaya, capital of the province of East Java will soon have its own grand recreation park called the Suroboyo Carnival Night Market, which is set to open on 28th July 2014. Coinciding with the Islamic celebration of the end of the fasting month, Eid Al Fitr, the opening of the new recreation park is expected to add to its festivity.

Suroboyo itself is the local pronunciation of the name “Surabaya”, where in the Javanese tongue the vowel “a” is spelled “o”.

Located at Ahmad Yani Street No.333, just by the Juanda Toll road Gate, Suroboyo Carnival Night Market covers a total area of over 8 Hectares. Applying the concept of night recreation, similar to that of the Batu Night Spectacular in the nearby Batu City, Suroboyo Park combines bazaar and marketplace, with games, sports, and entertainment in one integrated arena.

The Park features over 50 exciting rides which include: Adult Bumper Car, Lampion Garden, Ghost House, Shooting Gallery, Ferris Wheel Plaza, Art House, Laser Tag, Japan Coaster, Mine Coaster, Mini Bumper Car, Dome, 4D Cinema, Go Kart, Air Bike, Midway Games, Kids Kingdom, various children rides, family rides, and more. What makes this Park extra special is that there will also be a wax museum similar to Madame Tussaud’s Museum.

There will also be thematic bazaar and food courts which uniquely present the diverse facets of Surabaya such as Mlaku-Mlaku Nang Tunjungan (Javanese Section), Kampoeng Arab Ampel (Arab quarters), and Pecinan Kembang Jepun (Chinatown).

Surabaya Carnival Night Market is developed and managed by PT.Sinar Mutiara Sinergi within the same management as the Jatim Park 1, Batu Secret Zoo, and Batu Night Spectacular in Batu, and the Wisata Bahari Lamongan (Lamongan’s Marine Atraction) in the Lamongan Regency.
