One week ahead of the Jakarta Marathon 2014 to be held on 26th October 2014, Inspiro as Organizing Committee, together with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Jakarta’s Transportation Authority, and the Office of Sport and Youth of Jakarta, on Saturday, 18th October, re-measured to reconfirm the Jakarta Marathon 20014’s route.
The official re-measuring was performed by the representative of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), Fung Wang Tak. The reconfirmation was performed for all categories including the full marathon (42km), the Half Marathon (21km), 10K, 5K, and the 1km Maratoonz route for children.
The majority of routes will take participating runners pass some of the capital city of Jakarta’s landmarks such as the National Monument (Monas), The National Museum, Kota Tua the Old Batavia Complex, Glodok Shopping Center, Jakarta’s Cathedral, Istiqlal Grand Mosque, Istana Negara (Presidential Palace), and more.
The event will also be highlighted with the performance of rising teenage superstar group JKT48 who were recently named Tourism Ambassadors of Jakarta.
The route for the full marathon of 42km will cover the following streets: starting from Abdul Muis-Pintu Besar Selatan-Hayam Wuruk-Ir.H.Juanda- Veteran-Medan Merdeka Barat- Imam Bonjol- Rasuna Said- Gatot Subroto-Gerbang Pemuda Senayan- Asia Afrika-Sudirman-MH.Thamrin, Finishing at Budi Kemuliaan.
For the Half Marathon of 21km, the route is as follows: Abdul Muis-Gajah Mada- Pintu Besar Selatan- Hayam Wuruk- Ir.H.Juanda- Veteran- Medan Merdeka Barat-Imam Bonjol-Mh.Thamrin-Budi Kemuliaan.
The 10K will start and finish at Medan Merdeka Barat Street through Abdul Muis-Majapahit-Gajah Mada-Hayam Wuruk- before returning to Medan Merdeka Street. Similarly, the 5k starts and finishes at Medan Merdeka Barat Street and only passes Budi Kemuliaan, Abdul Muis, and Majapahit Street.
